epic.15 League of Legends Roundup - Upper Bracket Finals

A breakdown of the Upper Bracket Final, a Best of Three series between FM eSports and Infused. (With bonus stats!)

Game 1

A very controlled game kicks off into FM's favour after a botched 2nd red buff jungle invade from Nocturnal Plex gives first blood over to ZiviZ. Infused attempt to take their first dragon but a delayed contest from FM prevents them from scoring the first buff, but forces them into a 2 for 1 trade bringing the game back to an equal scoreline. After Plex is sighted in the top lane FM capitalize by grabbing the Dragon uncontested as a trade for the toplane turret. Infused start to pull ahead after an impressive turn around in a bot lane skirmish, but their lead is short lived as FM take out the Top and Mid outer turret.

The Game takes a strange turn as Infused rush down the midlane while FM charge up in the bottom lane. Some Infused back away to defend but FM stay on the inhibitor turret. After the ensuing Chaos both teams take down the inhibitor turret but leave the exposed inhibitor itself, while Infused pull ahead with a small 2k Gold lead after the traded kills. A fight in the midlane brings Infused futher ahead in kills but they can't take out the inhibitor as they were all taken so slivers or HP.

The game is stalled out until FM engage in the midlane and take out Infused's exposed inhibitor. With the time taken to rotate from Mid lane to Bot inhibitor Infused see an opportunity for a free Baron take while FM recall, using it to push down the midlane. Infused make their way into the FM base taking out the nexus turrets, but they over stay their welcome and lose 4 members as FM re spawn.

Infused start looking for a way back into FM's base but their hesitation to pull the trigger on an engage allows FM to push the bot lane up into Infused's base, before a great engage from Visdom wins FM the final team fight and sets them up to take the first game of the series.

Game 2

With Tundra playing the hyper scaling Ryze in the top lane, Infused send plex up for an early gank, donating First Blood to Alphari on Irelia to try and keep Ryze down. FM Manage a return kill shortly after but the scoreline stays at only one kill a piece as the game moves out of the laning phase.  A gank in the bot lane from the side of FM doesn't result in any kills but does bully Toaster and Arphan away for long enough to allow FM to take the first turret of the game.

The game stay relatively even with both teams trading turrets across the map, but as FM contest their Midlane turret Infused turn the fight around with a great shockwave and the resulting kills and turret give them a 2k gold lead. Infused manage to maintain this lead for a long part of the game, with only minor skirmished without many kills. There is a big win in a baron fight for Infused but FM respawn and recuperate in time to prevent Infused from taking it. Infused then recall and return to the pit to try and rush it down but Nutri body slams into the pit and steals the Baron with a perfect smite, Cr1tBud uses rend to early which meant it was a 50/50 smite battle.

The baron steal and following fight puts FM in the lead for gold and completely changes the tempo of the game. Infused try to presue top lane but after ZiviZ picks off Nocturnal Plex FM pick up 4 kills for free and proceed to barrel down the top lane and take two inhibitors. Infused charge back into the fight as they respawn and clean up the low hitpoint FM members. This means that the Gold is equal in the game, but due to the Map pressure from the Super Minions FM are able to push back into the base of Infused and take down the Nexus, giving them a 2-0 Win over Infused.

FM move through to the Grand Final tomorrow, while Infused will have to fight their way through the Lower Bracket Final against Gaming in Motion White
