News :: LOL: Day One featured Match roundup
Day 1's featured match up is the Best of 3 Match in the Upper Bracket Quarter Final Featured Match is of Legit Train Riders vs Promethium B.
Game 1
This was a very slow paced game, with Promethium slowly edging out a gold lead but the Legit Train Riders patiently stay in the game until they get some crucial ultimates at level 6 on Leona and Pantheon. With the Solar Flare to delay the enemy botlane while Grand skyfall is channeled allowing an easy kill onto Luke’s Nami, while the Legit Train Riders ride the momentum to pick up a few more kills and a Dragon for a Gold Lead. 3 kills down Promethium pull out all the stops with 3 counter kills in rapid succession, balancing out the gold. This balance is kept in check as Promethium pick up a few turrets while LTR grab multiple kills.
When the next Dragon spawns, Promethium have no vision of the surrounding area leading leading themselves into a very bad fight which sets LTR 4k gold ahead.
LTR slowly increase their lead though some clever rotations to outsmart a diminishing Promethium squad, who try and claw back some gold by looking for picks in the jungle, but it proves to be fruitless as LGR stick as a 5 man squad.
Unable to come back, Promethium B roll over to the snowballing Legit Train Riders as they pick up kill after kill, objective after objective before finally demolishing the Nexus.
Game 2
A drastic change of pace from the first game, LTR start this game with a band picking up 3 kills from a blue buff invade, propelling them to almost a 2k gold lead in the very early game. Keeping up the momentum Legit Train Riders stay on track with their aggressive early game plan, picking up multiple kills and a pair of towers to extend their lead to a hefty 4000 gold at a mere 9 minutes in. Promethium B pick up their first kill of the game while LTR are sitting pretty at 9, before LTR get a little over confident, tower diving against a Lulu and Yasuo which backfires into a 4 - 1 exchange in promethiums favour, bringing them slightly back into the running.
However nothing lasts forever and LTR are back in the drivers seat, picking up free kills after catching various Promethium members wandering through an unwarded jungle. Seemingly out of desperation both teams trade inhibitor turrets, but back away before more damage is done, as even though LTR are 7k gold ahead, Promethium are holding their own in teamfights. After what we can only assume as TLR noticing their lead, they decide to push their advantage to take the first inhibitor of the game but more hesitation shortly after allows Promethium to win another teamfight. However this was a 4 vs 5 team fight as Scotsmans Nidalee was busy split pushing in the bottom lane, taking out both Nexus turrets and creating enough breathing room for them to back off and take down the Baron uncontested. Promethium stray too far from their base, and TLR keep them busy while a UK xPeke takes down the Nexus through a sneaky backdoor tactic!
TLR take the Series 2-0 and move to the Upper Bracket Semi Finals, while Promethium B drop into the Lower Bracket.
