Over the past few weeks we've noticed a big increase in demand for EPIC43 for some reason...

What's great to see is a lot of the people booking are completely new to our events, helping to expand the community and keep our events running sustainably. We sold out our discount allocation in just 5 days without really shouting about it and we've done the same number of tickets again in the past few weeks. 

So we've decided it's time to expand EPIC43 and kick in our plans to open up the Fair Isle hall alongside the arena to make EPIC43 our biggest event ever.

We are recommending (not forcing) Fair Isle for casual players and single player esports titles and similarly recommending Arena for FPS-based esports. But you can still choose either, we're not going to be moving people away from their chosen areas. The only time we'd do this is if we come to a defrag situation and a group cannot fit in either of the rooms together. 

We're still working through the details of how this will work with the venue, but in general it will mean that: 

• We use the main building entrance (conference/theatre side) so that the catering has more space at the front of the building.
• Lakeside Foyer becomes our shop and check-in area to prevent the congestion we had at the entrance for EPIC41
• Lakeside Bar remains the main bar for the event, but subject to numbers Fair Isle bar will also open at peak times (e.g. 6pm-11pm)
• Fair Isle will also have some casual game setups, e.g. projector & screen to continue with fun tournament activities, Jackbox etc through the Saturday/Sunday when the main stage traditionally moves towards esports finals.
• Boat House & Portland will be indoor sleeping for the event
• Camping entrance moves back to the front of the building for an easier access route instead of the trek around the gym
• We're hoping to run some TV screens upstairs to mirror the stage content once we've figured out the technical side
• We need to have a think about the pub quiz with more people on site as that's starting to get a bit cosy!
