The growing attendance also goes to show that increased home internet speeds are not having a negative effect on LAN events around the world, and it's not exactly as though Sweden doesn't have fast domestic internet.

Winbar, Murray-Mint and Saboo from team epic.LAN bring you more coverage of the world's biggest Digital Festival, Dreamhack Winter 2009. OVER 9,000 people are here enjoying a hardcore weekend of all things digital, combined with a real festival atmosphere.
Well the epic journey to Dreamhack has begun!. The epic.LAN team of Murray-Mint, Winbar and Saboo joined Cheez as well as Wizzo & BugAlugs from MPUK on the trek from Heathrow T5 to the Elmia in Jonköping in Sweden.
Not long to go now until team epic.LAN heads over to the world's biggest computer festival, Dreamhack in Sweden. Last winter over 10,000 people were checked into the event which encompasses not only gaming, but programming, music, design...in fact anything involving a computer.
Winbar, Saboo & Murray-Mint will be making the epic journey from Wednesday 26th through to Sunday 29th November and we'll be keeping you up to date throughout with regular blog updates to the website from all three members of the team and also on the epic.LAN Twitter. We'll make sure we upload plenty of photos and video clips where possible too, ready to inspire more of you to join us on the trip next year!
For those who enjoy LAN parties, this one is a must! It's a totally different style event to anything that happens in the UK, but really does aim to encourage a festival atmosphere...with computers.
Watch this space for the team coverage, starting right at the beginning of the journey from around 4am on Wednesday 26th November!
