epic.FOUR UT2k4 Deathmatch Tournament

UT2k4In a throwback to our LANs of old, we've decided to make our main tournament at epic.FOUR a UT2k4 last man standing deathmatch.

Those who used to attend the 'other' events will remember the exciting and intense UT2k4 tournaments and those days are sorely missed, so it's back!

The tournament format is quite simple. We fill a server with people who want to play on a first-come-first-served basis and kick off a deathmatch map with a time limit of 5mins and a frag limit of 100. As soon as either of those limits are reached we kick-ban the bottom few players and move onto the next map until we're left with an epic final and a load of sore wrists!

It will be a solo tournament, so you don't need to worry about finding teams, just sign up at the event to take part!

And as for the most important question...insta or full weapons? Well that's up to you, we'll put a poll up and you can decide!

It's payday (for some)

Post ItIt's payday for many of you, so what better way to treat yourself for a month of hard work, than by enjoying a weekend of fun gaming without the boss wanting you to work faster!

We have plenty going on at epic.FOUR later this July and full details on things like timetables are starting to be prepared for announcement in the next couple of weeks.

Activities such as the pub quiz are starting to shape up, and don't forget we have a world of meat to serve up in our OM NOM NOM BBQ.

If you haven't already grabbed your seat, then make sure you book now, before you're tempted to spend that pay on something you don't need, like food.

epic.FOUR Live DJ Sets

DJ Epic4As part of the many activities taking place at our next event in July, we can now confirm that our two 'resident' DJs Haden & Superchief will be back again with not only their live sets during epic.FOUR, but also with a return of their 'DJ-Off' which some of you would have seen during the early hours of the last event.

Haden & Superchief are regulars to the events and their sets have always been a massive success, so we look forward to welcoming them back to the decks in a few weeks!

With just over 4 weeks to go, now is the time to grab your tickets for our great summer LAN party at Uttoxeter Racecourse, head over to epiclan.co.uk/epic4 to confirm your space and we'll see you there!

You Said, We Did - Our Improvements for epic.FOUR

FeedbackEvery event, we collect your feedback. For epic.THREE this was through speaking to people at the event, our surveys and from the forums.

We collect this feedback, not just to give you an opportunity to say what you thought about the event, but so that we can go away, consider it and make actual improvements to make sure that you all keep coming back to our LAN Parties.

However, we're also quite honest when there is feedback about something that either we cannot fix, or do not feel that changing that particular aspect would work for our events, we hope that you appreciate our being honest in these cases and explaining our reasoning.

We've now gone through all of your epic.THREE feedback with the team and also with the venue and can now confirm some of the improvements we'll be making for our next main LAN in July.

The Om Nom WTF BBQ at epic.FOUR

BBQIt wouldn't be a July LAN Party without a good helping of hot meat, and you know we don't like to disappoint!

Therefore, we're pleased to announce that we will be holding one of our almost famous BBQs at epic.FOUR on the Friday evening at around 7.

As usual, we will be ordering massive quantities of meat (and meat-themed substitutes) for your delectation and serving it up until you can't eat any more.

All we need you to do is go to your epic.FOUR Booking and add the BBQ Service. If you want to pay for that service now, that's great, if not then please do still add the service so we know how much meat to buy. If we start to run out at the event, then priority will go to those who have pre-booked!

If you haven't booked at all for epic.FOUR, then get on with it and remember to add the BBQ when you book!

Fun Plain Sight Tournament at epic.FOUR

Plain SightSuicidal ninja sword-wielding robots...

Such an obvious concept for a game! You play a robot character, collect energy from falling stars or by killing other robots with your sword, and when you've collected enough energy, you go suicidal in a giant explosion. The bigger the bang, the more points you get...simples!

We'll be running a fun Plain Sight tournament as part of the epic.FOUR LAN Party in July at Uttoxeter Racecourse. The exact game format is to be determined based on your feedback, but is likely to be selected from Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch or Capture the Flag.

If you don't already have Plain Sight, you can grab it now from Steam and you can also play on our own Plain Sight Server.
