After some great hunting action at epic.lite 2, on Thursday, we'll be stepping back into the 1920s for some murder mystery action, taking place on board a luxury cruise liner.

A mysterious man named Mr. X has handed out free tickets for his luxury cruise. Little did the passengers know, they were falling into his devious trap. All the passengers are required to track down and murder another passenger. If a passenger chooses not to do so, Mr. X will kill both the passengers and his or her family.

During the game, each player is assigned a quarry, and the object of the game is to murder them with nobody watching, at the same time as looking out for your own hunter. The game also has dynamic priced weapons, so you gain more money for each kill depending on the rarity of the weapon you choose. (Hint - don't go for the fire axe! But bonus points if we see anybody get a sauna kill!)

If you don't already own The Ship, you can buy it on the Steam Store, alternatively if you already have it and you have any guest passes available on your account, let people know on the forums so other people can try it free for the epic.Thursday game!

Tonight the epic.TF2 community play their second match in ETF2L's Highlander Tournament against UKCS at 7:30pm.

We worry about you all getting bored during the cold, dark, winter weekends. So because we're a caring bunch of people, we will be running an online version of our popular puzzle hunt this December, to keep you busy inbetween epic.lite 3 and epic.FIVE.

Our online hunt will involve a series of cryptic clues taking you on a journey through the digital world to lead to the final minimum prize of two free epic.LAN tickets to be used in 2011, with the possibility of increasing the prize depending on the numbers playing.

You can work on your own, or in teams, to solve the clues. Last year around 100 players took part with the final clue being solved quickest by CantFitMyN. 

The main hunt will start on Saturday 18th December at 12noon with a series of teaser questions on the Friday Evening. Signups will open at the beginning of December.

We had a promising start in the first map but unfortunately we were hit by some disconnect and ping issues which resulted in us setting disapporing times on both maps which the opposition were easily able to beat. Out next match is yet to be scheduled but we are all hoping we will be able to better our performance or at least keep 9 people on the server at once!

We are very pleased to announce the details of our first prize winning tournament at epic.LAN with our £1,000 Team Fortress 2 event taking place at the epic.FIVE LAN party in February 2011 at Uttoxeter Racecourse.

After taking a couple of years off from running competitive tournaments, we've decided now is the right time for epic.LAN to reintroduce some high-quality tournaments to our events and with TF2 already very popular both at our LANs and with our online games nights, it seemed to be the ideal choice of game.

We're also very excited to announce that the well known team of Tapley & Mole will be taking the admin role for the tournament.

Our great little LAN Party, epic.lite 3 (or elite for short) has sold out in an epic.LAN record of under 2 hours!

The event, which takes place in Bagnall Village Hall this November, houses just 32 participants and is a very relaxed affair, with more of a focus on meeting up with the community for a social event, with a bit of gaming mixed in.

If you missed out this time, but you'd still like to attend, then still sign up to the event as you would normally and you'll be added to our waiting list. Those on the waiting list will get notified first should any cancellation places become available.

Our next LAN event with places available is epic.FIVE, taking place in February 2011 at Uttoxeter Racecourse, Staffordshire.

Since opening the seating plan, some of you have been asking for us to put some pictures up of the two gaming halls and bar at epic.FIVE. So we've updated the epic.FIVE Venue page so that you can see which hall is which.

For those who know the Uttoxeter Layout, you will now enter the event under the covered walkway in the middle of the grandstand between the two main rooms. Hall 1 on the seating plan is on the left and called the Premier Bar, Hall 2 is on the right and is the Exhibition Hall (where we held epic.THREE and FOUR).

The main helpdesk and shop will be in Hall 2 right by the main entrance, and there will also be a smaller staff area in Hall 1.

The bar, and quite large social area which runs for the entire length of the room, will also be located in Hall 1.

After loads of you have been asking, so that you can book holidays from work next year, we've rushed ahead to confirm the epic.LAN event dates for 2011 already!

Because we're launching our new style events, and investing a lot of time and resources into running the two rooms at Uttoxeter, we've shifted the balance in 2011 to run 3 epic.LAN events at the racecourse and 2 lite events in Bagnall. We're also hoping to actually get around to some more social events next year, like our Silverstone F1 trip.

So in 2011, you can join us for some excellent LAN parties on the following dates:

• epic.FIVE - 24th - 27th February (bookings open!)
• epic.lite 4 - 27th - 30th May
• epic.SIX - 28th - 31st July
• epic.SEVEN - 20th - 23rd October (provisional)
• epic.lite 5 - 18th - 20th November

Event bookings for our main events will open some time at the previous event, normally on the last day. The dates for our epic.lite event bookings opening will be confirmed closer to the time, but is normally a few months before the event.
