The real ale fans will be glad to hear that the venue has listened to the feedback and have been able to source some local beers for you to enjoy over the course of epic.TEN which have now been to the bar product list.
The local Potbelly Brewery, actually based in Kettering, will be supplying the bar with the following two ales during the event:
Both will be priced at £3.20, so the same pricing as the other lagers/beers on the bar!
Obviously this is something completely new for the venue to try, so make sure you finish it off by the end of the weekend so you can have it back again in the future and maybe even a wider range if it is successful!
We can also now confirm the on-site catering arrangements for epic.TEN which will be open from:
Friday - 4pm-10pm
Saturday & Sunday - 8am-10pm
Monday - 8am-4pm
Catering for LAN parties is completely new to the venue, and it's an entirely in-house catering service. So they want your feedback during the event and we recognise that we may not get it right first time, the venue team is fully prepared to have to change things as the event goes on.
On the menu there are a number of core things that will always be available (the usual burgers, chips, pizza slices etc.) and then for each day there's a couple of other main meal options to give some variety throughout. Obviously it's impossible to please so many people starting from scratch so if you have any feedback then please do make it constructive so we can make things better going forwards.
Never mind the tournament timetable, this is the one people wanted to know right? It's the bar times and a sample of the range that will be on offer during the event.
Here's what you've all been waiting for, it's the epic.TEN timetable!
As well as things like opening times (bar and catering following shortly), the timetable also shows a range of big games and fun tournaments taking place throughout the event. As always, we've taken on board your feedback and added in some different games as well as keeping in the old favourites.
You'll notice that smaller games like RTS titles and the non-computer stuff like boardgames, werewolves etc. don't feature on the timetable. That's because we only schedule in the things that we're responsible for running and then that leaves you with plenty of time to do your own thing during the event. Of course you don't have to play everything in the timetable, it's just a guide to when we'll be putting up some big games for as many people as possible to enjoy.
So here is the epic.TEN timetable!
It wouldn't be an epic.LAN if we didn't have a silly console tournament, so it's time to throw some funky shapes with our Just Dance fun tournament.
So really, all you have to do is stand in front of the screen and look silly for a few minutes, and you could win this one!
That completes our fun tournament lineup for epic.TEN with:
Watch this space for our full big game timetable which will be released in the next few days! If you haven't booked yet, we still have spaces in our casual gaming areas, so go and grab yours now!
Always very popular at our LAN events, we've decided to keep F1 2011 in the fun tournament lineup. We did consider moving to F1 2012, but quite a few of our participants decided not to buy the latest sequel, so we'll stick with an old favourite to hopefully get more people taking part!
Exact format will be discussed over the next few days, so let us know how you'd like it to run.
And watch out for Elsie in your mirrors, he likes to use you as a brake!
So as we approach the final weeks before epic.TEN, it's time start letting you know about the big games and fun tournaments taking place at the first major LAN party of 2013.
First up, it's a return of an old epic.LAN favourite, with our fun FPS tournament, UT2004. We run with a nice simple format for this one, everyone joins the server (or 2 servers if there's enough demand) and we run short deathmatch stages. Every stage, we kick a few players until we're left with our last man (or woman) standing to be crowned as the winner.
The seating picker for epic.TEN will be locked down from 6pm Friday 8th February, from this point onwards, only new bookings will be able to select a seat, existing bookings will be locked in.
We do this to allow us to 'defrag' the seating plan and only put down the number of chairs and tables we need for the event as there is a cost to running empty rows, it also makes it more crowded for you if we have unnecessary rows taking up space.
If there are any urgent moves required after the lockdown, please contact us. We will only move people if we have to, but to ensure that you don't get broken up from your team/friends, please ensure that you all have the same clan tag set on your account.
We'd also suggest that you don't print out your booking (required for checkin) until just before the event in case you are moved.
A large group of gamers from the Portland and Pendeen rooms have recently nabbed one of our community rooms for epic.TEN, which means there is now space available in those rooms, we know some of you were hoping to attend if space became available, so now's your chance!
There are 14 spaces available in the casual gaming rooms now for epic.TEN so go ahead and book yours now!
The deadline for requesting any new epic.TEN refunds has now passed as the event is a mere 28 days away. Refunds on any cancellations beyond this point will only be available if the event is fully sold out and tickets can be re-sold to the waiting list.
While this may seem harsh, the reason behind it is simply that all of our major expenses for the event have to be paid out by one month before too. So once we've paid the huge costs for things like the venue, the ticket money is no longer available to refund.
So on that note, let's begin the final countdown to epic.TEN!
