It was touch and go for a while, after the lower than expected numbers at the last event, we've been thinking very carefully about CS:GO for epic.FOURTEEN.
Over the past few weeks though, we've been bombarded with requests for CS:GO to be included in the tournament lineup, so we're happy to oblige!
So to all those who've been asking us to keep it in the lineup recently, make sure you now show your support and grab your ticket for the event and show us that the community really wants the game to continue at epic.LAN!
After a lot of consideration, we can confirm that League of Legends will be included in the epic.FOURTEEN lineup. The numbers for League of Legends have been up and down over recent events. It was our biggest tournament last February, but then with a low turnout in July for various timing reasons.
So we've decided to give it another chance and hope to see the UK LoL community build on previous events and hopefully smash the numbers from last February. We'll be launching with an initial prize pot up to £3000 (subject to team signups) with the opportunity for that to increase depending on partner involvement over the coming months.
epic.FOURTEEN takes place from 19th - 22nd February 2015 at Kettering Conference Centre, Northamptonshire. Tickets are available for just £65 with over 25% of tickets already gone.
Hot on the heels of our EGX London Dota2 Challenge, we're pleased to confirm the return of Dota2 to epic.FOURTEEN in February 2015 with an initial prize pool of up to £3000.
Dota2 joins the existing lineup of Starcraft2 and Hearthstone as part of our eSports programme at the event, with initial prizepools hopefully to be increased subject to support from our partners.
Bookings are open for epic.FOURTEEN with BYOC tickets discounted to just £55 until 8pm 30th September, so make sure you grab your bargain ticket before time runs out.
We are very excited to announce that following on from our popular stand at EGX Rezzed earlier in the year, the EGX team has invited us back for the UK's biggest gaming show, EGX London (formerly Eurogamer Expo).
We've teamed up with EGX to offer a weekend of Dota2 action, giving new players the opportunity to try out the game and hopefully promote the UK Dota community as well as offering a feature tournament with online heats to give the top 4 teams the opportunity to play in the heart of one of the UK's biggest gaming events at Earl's Court next month for some cool prizes (to be announced shortly).
For more details about the online tournament, giving chance for the top 4 teams to win tickets to EGX on Sunday 28th September (sold out to the general public), visit our tournament minisite. Tournament signups close on Tuesday 26th August, so make sure you sign up now!
We thought epic.THIRTEEN was going to be the last we saw of the SC2 community for a while, but there was such great support and we've had so many people asking us to keep SC2 on the lineup, we're pleased to confirm that Starcraft 2 will be back for epic.FOURTEEN in February 2015 as one of our official eSports tournaments.
epic.FOURTEEN takes place from 19-22nd February 2015 at the Kettering Conference Centre. Tickets are just £55 until the end of September.
We look forward to welcoming the SC2 community back to our next event!
With the huge and growing popularity of the Blizzard digital card-game, Hearthstone, we've decided to announce it as the first of our main epic.FOURTEEN eSports tournaments.
It's likely that we'll run the matches later on in the evenings once more, so people can still take part in other tournaments during the event.
We'll be confirming more of our tournaments over the coming weeks, at this stage we're still looking for sponsorship for epic.FOURTEEN, so we'll be confirming the eSports titles with our base prize pool, and then we'll announce any increases should any partners come on board at a later date.
ESL UK partners with epic.LAN for the thirteenth instalment of their gaming and eSports LAN series. As part of their partnership, ESL UK will be boosting the prize pool through their partner network by £1,000 in a bid to help stimulate development within the UK’s Counter-Strike gaming community. ESL UK will be providing full coverage of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition, alongside the event as a whole throughout the weekend.
Peter Mather, Community Manager for ESL UK commented saying:
“We’re really excited to be solidifying our partnership with epic.LAN after a fantastic event back in February. "Following on from the success of the Dota2 challenge at our last event, and with the current growth of CS:GO, we’re very excited to partner with ESL UK once again for epic.THIRTEEN this July. With the boost in the prize pool and the exciting coverage plans, the tournament is certainly going to be one to watch in the UK and beyond."

Awesome news for epic.THIRTEEN participants as we're extremely rammed to confirm that the world's first Goat Simulator tournament will be taking place at the event.
Furthermore, we're also confirming the renewal of our ESL UK partnership as they promise to bring IEM-standard coverage to this amazing new title set to take the eSports world by storm. We caught up with Peter Mather, ESL UK Community Manager, who had this to say:
After the success of the Dota2 challenge at epic.TWELVE. At first we thought the epic.LAN guys were kidding us, but thinking about it, we can't wait to be back for the next instalment and what better game to work together with the team at epic.LAN on to deliver this world's first tournament. If you thought Katowice was spectacular, wait until you see what we've got in store for this event!
Signups for the epic.THIRTEEN Goat Simulator tournament are now live, with tickets on sale for just £50 until 8pm 1st April saving yew a whole £10 on the normal price. Make sure you bleat about it to all your friends so we can make epic.THIRTEEN the best event yet!
