With epic.EIGHT getting so hectic, we almost forgot!
Bookings for epic.lite 6 will open at 8pm on Monday 6th February!
Our smaller "elite" events are always extremely popular with tickets often selling out in under 24 hours, so make sure you're ready on the website if you want to secure your place!
It is taking place on a bank holiday weekend, hence the slightly higher price than normal elite events. BBQ is confirmed for Saturday and Sunday nights and of course the usual breakfast meat helpings will be available.
Earlier this week, the confirmed participant numbers for the epic.EIGHT UK LAN Party exceeded our previous record held by last year's epic.FIVE with 212.
With just under four weeks to go and only 76 participant spaces left, could we be on track to see yet another epic.LAN sell-out event?
Don't miss out, grab your space for epic.EIGHT now!
Well we've hit that mere weeks mark, which means that the cancellation cut-off time has now passed for epic.EIGHT. Any cancellations that have already been requested prior to 4pm today will be processed within our normal 28 day turnaround time, but from this point forward we will not be able to accept any refund requests unless the event entirely sells out and your place can be re-sold to another participant on the waiting list. Similarly, we would like to remind everybody that tickets are not transferrable, ID spot-checks will be made at the check-in desk to prove that the ticket is being used by the original account holder.
Yes, it's that time in the run up to one of our LAN events where we start to look at our timetable of big games and fun tournaments!
epic.EIGHT is happening next month and it's looking like one of our biggest events yet, with spaces almost gone in Hall 1 already!
As usual we'll have plenty of activities, and here's where you tell us what sort of games you'd like to see. As before we'll have a few fun tournaments over a couple of game genres and a packed timetable of big games throughout the day and night, as well as the usual activities like our Pub Quiz.
So head on over to the forums and let us know what you'd like to see, we'll then get the timetable up so you can make sure you have all of the games included.
It's that time of year once more, Santa is making his way around the world and the epic team members have already consumed a little too much mulled wine.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all of our community members a very merry Christmas and all the best wishes for 2012. I would also like to make a special thank you to all of the members of the epic.LAN and epic.Radio teams who have once again given another year of their own time to bring you some great LAN events and online activities.
Looking back over 2011, we've had another very successful year. Our biggest ever LAN event took place in February, we introduced a successful tournament series to our events while retaining the old atmosphere through the two hall idea and we've continued to improve on the events you all enjoy.
We also had some great smaller community events, including our epic lite LANs, Alton Towers Trip and our second visit to the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Online, we've continued to grow our community, recently passing over 1000 registered users. We've maintained our popular games nights, have a great forum and IRC community and of course we've recently launched epic.Radio for you all to listen to while you're playing and that has brought some great new people into our online and LAN community who we welcome wholeheartedly.
So in 2012, we hope to continue to build on the successes of this year. epic.EIGHT is already looking very promising for our casual and competitive community. New forums are coming (sorry, they had a little delay while we launched the radio) and we have some other exciting plans for our events and online activities.
Again, I thank you all for being a part of what we've achieved in 2011, and look forward to seeing you all in 2012.
Best Wishes,
Jon (Winbar)
After another great year with epic, we have loads of plans for 2012, especially with the epic.EIGHT bookings going well so far! That means, once again we're looking for some help from people who are willing to volunteer a bit of their time as part of our many activities.
Unfortunately everything with epic is on a voluntary basis (including the management team), but the work, while tiring, is rewarding and gives people the opportunity to put something back into the community. So we're looking for people who can help in a number of areas.
The launch discount for epic.EIGHT is now over with 91 people already confirmed for the event. At the same event in 2011, just 49 people had booked during the launch discount, and that event sold out around one month before, so epic.EIGHT is on track once again to be our biggest event yet!
Make sure you don't miss out and grab your ticket as soon as possible before they all go! Full priced tickets cost just £57 for Thursday - Sunday, 72 hours of gaming action with £5000 of prize money up for grabs!
See you there!
Don't forget, you can save £7 per ticket for epic.EIGHT if you book and confirm your place by 8pm on Thursday 1st December.
Grab your epic.EIGHT seat for just £50 until Thursday, then £57 thereafter. Unfortunately we've had to put a whole £2 on to the cost of event tickets due to increases in the venue costs in 2012 that we are unable to absorb.
Remember when you book, we've also confirmed a Hog Roast for the LAN, and you can pre-book that when you get your ticket to save worrying about cash on the day.
Hope to see you there for our first event of 2012!
As I’m sure everyone has heard on the grapevine, a management split within GamerFM means that the brand has been sold to FragRadio. However, a significant number of the former GamerFM management and staff wished to start again as part of a new online radio venture.
We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with those people over the last 12 months, so naturally we couldn’t resist the opportunity to work even closer with those dedicated people. So we’re proud to announce epic.Radio! Bringing you the same quality content and presenters you’ve come to associate with the former GamerFM name.
This new station means that we can combine the best of online radio with our gaming community, LAN events and other activities planned for our community in the future. It’s going to take some time to get things back up and running (particularly the stream itself), so bear with us and watch this space for the latest news.
We look forward to a great future with epic.Radio and hope you all tune in soon!

Good communication is the key to winning, from commanding a battle fleet to fighting an ork or just to get yourself healed by the team medic when you need it! We are proud to announce our epic.TeamSpeak 3 server is open for business.
We have decided to change from Mumble as TeamSpeak allows us more control and better integration. Plus we can have cool little icons next to the channel names! Our Mumble server will be shut down at midnight tonight.
Feel free to join the server whenever you want, if it's only for epic.Tuesday, or for any other gaming you are doing throughout the week, it's available for the community to use.
So come on in mock everyone as you steal their dog tags in Battlefield 3, or stab them in the back in TF2, or nom on them as a face hugger in Aliens vs. predator.
