ESL UK partners with epic.LAN for the thirteenth instalment of their gaming and eSports LAN series. As part of their partnership, ESL UK will be boosting the prize pool through their partner network by £1,000 in a bid to help stimulate development within the UK’s Counter-Strike gaming community. ESL UK will be providing full coverage of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition, alongside the event as a whole throughout the weekend.
Peter Mather, Community Manager for ESL UK commented saying:
“We’re really excited to be solidifying our partnership with epic.LAN after a fantastic event back in February. We’ve got some awesome plans in development for the next instalment to help bring the event live to your living rooms, and really add some extra value for the talented sides that will be joining us throughout the weekend. The team over at epic.LAN are amazing to work with, and I’m sure that this partnership will see us bringing one of the best UK Counter-Strike competitions to date!”
The competition will feature a minimum prize pool of £1,000, with the possibility of expanding to £4,000 based on community interest.
Jon Winkle, Managing Director of epic.LAN stated:
"Following on from the success of the Dota2 challenge at our last event, and with the current growth of CS:GO, we’re very excited to partner with ESL UK once again for epic.THIRTEEN this July. With the boost in the prize pool and the exciting coverage plans, the tournament is certainly going to be one to watch in the UK and beyond."

We're excited to confirm the return of the popular puzzle hunt at our next event, run by the awesome but ever-so-slightly-evil team from CantFitMyN.
For those of you who haven't taken part in this sort of puzzle before, the idea for this event comes from a concept used at Dreamhack (the DH Game), and various other worldwide puzzle-hunt type games. This particular hunt takes you through a series of digital and event-based clues to lead you to the right answer for each question. This game is a test of your initiative, knowledge, lateral thinking, puzzle solving, code-breaking and some creative image/sound processing skill.
Full details about prizes and rules to be confirmed closer to the event! But for now, make sure you've grabbed your ticket so you can take part!
So epic.THIRTEEN is just around the corner.... no really it is! We're all looking forward to the July event and to make sure we have all the tournaments running in an orderly fashion we have a full line up of Admins joining our tournament team this event and they are:

After seeing some of the best UK Dota talent compete at our last event, we're pleased to confirm the return of Dota2 to epic.THIRTEEN this July.
This will be the 4th time epic.LAN we've hosted Dota2 after bringing you the first BYOC Dota2 tournament in the UK last year and we hope to see some great support from the growing UK Dota scene to prove that Dota 2 needs a regular home at epic.LAN!
Tournament signups for Dota2 and all of our other tournaments are now available once you've bought your tickets.
Awesome news for epic.THIRTEEN participants as we're extremely rammed to confirm that the world's first Goat Simulator tournament will be taking place at the event.
Furthermore, we're also confirming the renewal of our ESL UK partnership as they promise to bring IEM-standard coverage to this amazing new title set to take the eSports world by storm. We caught up with Peter Mather, ESL UK Community Manager, who had this to say:
After the success of the Dota2 challenge at epic.TWELVE. At first we thought the epic.LAN guys were kidding us, but thinking about it, we can't wait to be back for the next instalment and what better game to work together with the team at epic.LAN on to deliver this world's first tournament. If you thought Katowice was spectacular, wait until you see what we've got in store for this event!
Signups for the epic.THIRTEEN Goat Simulator tournament are now live, with tickets on sale for just £50 until 8pm 1st April saving yew a whole £10 on the normal price. Make sure you bleat about it to all your friends so we can make epic.THIRTEEN the best event yet!
After one of our biggest LANs so far, we have even more planned for epic.THIRTEEN so we keep getting better! But to do that, we need some more help!
We're looking for some keen and enthusiastic volunteers to join the existing team in a number of areas to make the events even more awesome. It's very hard and tiring work but we all find it extremely rewarding, otherwise we wouldn't do it! In particular we're looking for people in the following areas:
If you're interested in helping out in any of the above roles, then please contact us straight away with details of your experience and what you can offer to the team. If you've got what it takes, we'll be back in touch with you to arrange a chat with some of the existing team members.
After such a great response by the League of Legends community at our last event, Tesoro have stepped up to sponsor our epic.THIRTEEN tournament, to ensure that the tournament starts off with a minimum guaranteed prize of £1000 rising to £4000 depending on the number of teams taking part as well as Tesoro products for the top placing teams.
Tesoro Technology consists of a team of gaming enthusiasts from the US and while still relatively young in the peripherals market, they'll be expanding their range of gaming keyboards, mice, surfaces and audio, inspired by the community.
Bookings are open for epic.THIRTEEN, with tickets just £60, so grab yourself a ticket now!
It seems that nearly all of the seats in our casual gaming room (Portland) have gone! So we've decided to open up Pendeen as a further 'loud' casual gaming room for epic.THIRTEEN, or the 'Portland Extension'. We'll be running the music and the lighting through to Pendeen as best as we can to try to keep the same sort of atmosphere as we have in Portland, giving another 36 casual gaming seats for you to play with!
So with 90 tickets already gone for epic.THIRTEEN and 4 weeks of launch discount still to go, it's looking like everything is awesome for our next event!
